Theresa May, Jeremy Corbyn face tough questions on live TV

These are the 5 of the questions Jeremy Corbyn answered during his Mumsnet webchat

Jeremy Corbyn was tweeted about more than double the number of times Theresa May was during the Channel 4/Sky News election programme on Monday night, according to data from Twitter.

Corbyn eschewed numerous sound bites that characterize this form of politicking, disarming a studio audience with humor and making strides in erasing a public image as a tense far-left campaigner who has trouble connecting with the concerns of working-class voters.

She added: "As always with Jeremy Corbyn and Labour, the shambles and the responsibility would be theirs but the consequences and the bill would be ours".

Replying to another man who said he liked the Labour manifesto but did not see him as "someone who could run this country", Mr Corbyn said he saw himself as a listening politician.

Priti Patel, global development secretary, described the interview as "shambolic" and said Mr Corbyn "isn't up to the job of leading our country through the challenges ahead" such as Brexit.

Mr Corbyn was attempting to focus on policy issues with the commitment to the extension of free childcare, but his own performance was firmly in the spotlight after the Woman's Hour interview.

And when he was challenged over why some of his "core beliefs" - such as nationalising banks - did not feature in the Labour manifesto, he said: "I'm not a dictator who writes things to tell people what to do".

She said budgets were now being protected for both counter-terrorism forces and overall policing.

However May was asked if joke was "demeaning the great office of prime minister" with her "personal attacks" on the Labour leader.

Asked whether this indicated that voters should not trust Labour with their money, he answered: "Not at all". It would probably - I don't want to be held to this - probably come down.

The Labour leader will claim patients will suffer longer waiting lists and children will be crammed into overcrowded classrooms if the Tories are re-elected on 8 June. "Does that sound about right?"

Mr Corbyn will claim the future of the National Health Service and English schools are on the line in the election and new analysis shows the impact of the Tories' plans.

This was on a par, or possibly even worse, than Diane Abbott getting into a pickle on the cost of Labour's policing pledges.

Theresa May will accuse the European Union of adopting an aggressive negotiating position in Brexit talks in a speech later today.

Returning to campaign trail after the Manchester bombing and her attendance at the North Atlantic Treaty Organisation and G7 summits, the Prime Minister said the choice on June 8 came down to who voters wanted to represent Britain around the negotiating table in Brussels - her or Jeremy Corbyn. And for the first time since he became leader, Corbyn has had that something.

"Jeremy Corbyn is not", she said.

"We need to face up to the fact that there are going to be extra costs and we think this is the best way to handle it and I think the audience responded well to that honesty".
