"We want to say again that we are truly sorry for the abuse Nassar's victims suffered, the pain it caused and the pain it continues to cause", MSU Spokesperson Jason Cody told Law&Crime in a statement January 16.

"I was taking a bath when I made a decision to push the bath mat aside, splash water on the tiles, get on the floor and bang the back of my head against the tub hard enough to get a bump so it seemed like I slipped", Larson said.

"It's one case, but it's giving many victims a voice", said Erin Roberts, CEO of End Violent Encounters (EVE).

Fifteen-year-old Emma Ann Miller, who delivered an emotional speech during the sentencing hearing on Monday, said that her mother is still getting billed for the appointments where she was sexually assaulted. Many have also said this happened while a parent was in the room, and that Nassar would use a sheet or his body to block the parent's view.

Larson is not the first woman to accuse Nassar, 158 women have come forward with claims of assault, including many world-renowned gymnasts.

In a statement issued Tuesday night, the NCAA confirmed it has opened an investigation in Michigan State University and how it handled the Larry Nassar situation. Under a plea deal, he will get a minimum of 25 to 40 years for digitally penetrating girls under the guise of medical treatment between 1998 and 2015. The ultimate sentence imposed could be much higher.

But the exact length of the sentence he receives in this case may be moot.

"USA Gymnastics needs to focus on supporting the courageous survivors". Rachael Denhollander was abused by Nassar at age 15. "We support their decisions to resign at this time. We stand ready to step back in when USAG has fully addressed these tragic events". "I was 100 percent confident there were other victims speaking up and being silenced". Originally, fewer than 90 women and girls were expected to give statements. Some have had others read statements on their behalf. He said Simon has been the best president in his 30 years as a trustee.

Before Judge Rosemarie Aquilina entered court, Nassar settled into a chair next to his lawyer and shook his head while reading a piece of paper. Typically the courtroom breaks into applause after.

"Your sister survivors and you are going through incomprehensible lengths, emotions and soul-searching to put your words together, to publicly stop [the] defendant, to publicly stop predators, to make people listen". "He's the one that needs to be ashamed".

The letter "tells me you still don't get it", Aquilina said.

Last year, USA Gymnastics commissioned a review of its sex abuse prevention policies, led by a former federal prosecutor, but the review avoided assessing blame for Nassar's crimes, which are the subject of lawsuits against USA Gymnastics and Michigan State filed by more than 130 girls and women who've asserted abuse by Nassar. The victims include some of the most famous Olympic gymnasts in American history, including gold medalist Aly Raisman, as well as athletes at Michigan State University and at USA Gymnastics.

"You have become a man ruled by selfish and perverted desires", she told Nassar, who worked at the university and USA Gymnastics.
