Perris torture case: Turpins were ready to move 'within days,' source says

A judge banned Louise and David Turpin - who stand accused of abusing and torturing their family - from contacting their children, believing it will tamper with the ongoing investigation, reported ABC News.

Press coverage is common concern for defense attorneys in high-profile cases, but courts generally protect the jury pool in two ways.

Smith read aloud the list of requirements included in the protective order - which is common in abuse cases - as the Turpins, who wore black suits provided by their attorneys, listened quietly. They are due back in court February 23.

David and Louise Turpin are each facing almost 40 charges, including torture and false imprisonment.

Perhaps 43 percent of people feel the abuse by David and Louise Turpin of their children is also morally acceptable.

They pleaded not guilty to all counts and are being held in custody on US$9 million bail each.

Detectives investigating the horrific crimes say the children were denied food, basic hygiene and medical care and were punished for perceived infractions such as washing their hands above the wrist. The county is seeking custodial rights over them. "These punishments would last months at a time".

Then, he said he saw all the news articles about his former classmate and the frightful abuse she has allegedly endured, including severe malnutrition. Additionally, the OH megachurch connected to his college was exposed for a violent incident of abuse in which a 2-year-old child developed welts and bruises - including on his penis - after being hit with a ruler by a daycare worker in 2006. "They were fed very little on a schedule".

"Circumstantial evidence in the house recommends that the casualties were regularly not discharged from their chains to go to the washroom", Hestrin said at the public interview. "They didn't know what medication was for". But the D.A. was tight-lipped as to a possible motive.

"I told him 'You look so young, you look 15, '" Simon recalled, adding that Louise Turpin mentioned she and her husband would take their older children to Las Vegas. The allegations range from keeping them in chains to starving them to forbidding showers for a year. Their conditions remained unclear, though investigators said they were relieved to be out of the house.

The seven adults were taken to Corona Regional Medical centre for examination and treatment. The children were discovered, January 15, 2018. Sources also told ABC News that there were boxes found in the Perris house - consistent with moving - concentrated in the hallways, entryway and bedrooms.

The revelation may explain the timing of their 17-year-old daughter's daring escape last week after a lifetime of misery and neglect. He said a 12-year-old kin was the heaviness of a normal 7-year-old.

Fellows said three children were found chained to furniture inside the residence.

Neither David nor Louise spoke during the hearing but nodded to acknowledge they understood the orders.

Louise Turpin's attorney declined to comment after the hearing.
