India crushed South Africa by nine wickets in the second one-day global on Sunday after dismissing the top-ranked team in the world for 118, its worst total on home soil.

Coming in at No.3, du Plessis (120 off 112 balls; 4X11, 6X2) steered the South African ship with three vital half-century partnerships even as the Indian wrist spin duo of chinaman Kuldeep Yadav (3/34) and leggie Yuzvendra Chahal (2/45) shared five wickets between them to rip through the top order. We only need to look back at the 2nd Test match played at Centurion.

Dhawan remained unbeaten on 51 runs off 56 balls while Kohli was not out on 46.

South Africa began to crumble once Amla was gone as De Kock fell for 20, while stand-in captain Aiden Markram and David Miller were dismissed by Kuldeep Yadav in the same over. India is leading the six-match series 1-0 after their victory in first ODI in Durban. South Africa don't come across such wicket-taking spinners every day, and it is not going to be easy to formulate plans with only two days between all ODIs.

Chahal got his deserved fifer when Morris holed out trying to go big in an effort to add as many runs as possible to the meagre total. "It does take time to get used to their change-ups and their variations", Benkenstein said. Also, the Haryana spinner's bowling figures in today's game are the second best recorded by an Indian bowler against the Proteas in ODIs.

The rest surrendered infront of Indian spinners.

After a break of around 40 minutes, the players returned and India captain Virat Kohli hit the winning runs off the ninth ball following the resumption to seal a one-sided victory. De Kock also could not go long enough and went back after adding 20 runs to the total. They started off well in the last game too.

Chris Morris, however, scored 14 runs off 10 deliveries with the help of a six and a four.

South Africa barely crossed 100 in that over, and then Chahal came with another breakthrough, trapping Duminy plumb LBW. Bhuvneshwar Kumar and Jasprit Bumrah, on the other hand, chipped in with a wicket each. We knew the wickets would be hard and dry and knew our wrist-spinners can get it to turn anywhere. "He was superb, he took on the fast bowlers", said Kohli who was adjudged man of the match. India had brought on spin from the 11 over itself as Chahal exerted control over proceedings.
